Ms Lhara - Centre Manager

Certificate IV in School-Based Education Support | Teaching Primary Maths & English since 2019

Ms Lhara leads the South Sydney tutoring team with warmth and dedication, creating a student-centred environment where confidence and skills grow together. Lessons go beyond content mastery to build resilience, spark curiosity, and inspire a love of learning.

Passionate about fostering a love of learning, Ms Lhara places students at the centre of every lesson, building confidence and encouraging growth.

I began teaching because I wanted to allow children to fall in love with learning and MWNS has given me an opportunity to do that

Your child is supported by an entire team at MWNS. Teachers collaborate and share lesson notes to ensure continuity of learning. Our South Sydney tutors are experienced, passionate educators with a current Working with Children Check, supported by Centre Manager Ms Lhara, who oversees every student’s progress plan.

Absolutely. Our tutors are familiar with the NSW curriculum, NESA requirements, and the teaching approaches common in local south sydney schools. They teach personalised lessons and track student progress against the NSW curriculum, which you can view anytime on the Parent Portal.

We have over 15,000 resources in-centre and online. Tutors select the most suitable worksheets, hands-on tools, and digital materials to personalise each lesson. Commonly used resources include clocks, educational games, past paper questions, counters, dice, protractors, flashcards, and PowerPoints.

Yes! Homework is set to reinforce skills, with around 30 minutes allocated per class. We can adjust the workload to suit your child’s workload and goals – just let us know!

Your child’s tutor will share detailed lesson notes after every lesson via the Parent Portal. Each update includes a written evaluation and progress tracked against the NSW Curriculum.

Yes – you can speak with your child’s tutor before or after lessons. Centre Manager Lhara is also across all student progress, so feel free to call or email her anytime for updates or to ask questions.

Ms Lhara has completed a Certificate IV in School Based Education Support at TAFE and teaches a variety of dance styles at their own school and in schools around Sydney. They bring practical experience and a flexible teaching approach that meets each student’s individual needs.

Ms Leah is studying Secondary Education and Arts at Macquarie University, majoring in Ancient History with minors in Sociology and Modern History. She has six years of experience tutoring primary students in English, Maths, and Junior Creative Writing, and has recently been recognised as a student teacher after passing her LANTITE exams.

Mr Yiannis holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in Mathematics from the University of Patras in Greece. He taught in schools and tutoring centres there for 10 years before moving to Sydney, where he has been tutoring since 2004. Mr Patrick is currently studying a Bachelor of Primary education from the University Of Notre Dame. Mr Patrick has no previous experience, Mr Patrick’s Passion for teaching came from watching his younger family members grow up and helping nurture them into the young people they are today, Mr Patrick’s passion for teaching also comes from coaching numerous youth soccer teams and watching them grow and develop their skills.

Ms Linara Tennakoon is an enthusiastic educator and undergraduate student currently completing a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering (Honours) at the University of Sydney. Ms Linara has professional teaching experience as a Lecturer and Course Coordinator (Mathematics & English) at Lanka College of Teachers Training and the Institute of Nations Professional Management, where she supported diverse learners through structured lessons and clear explanations. Mr Sandip is a passionate tutor currently pursuing a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sydney. With a strong background in mathematics, physics, and astronomy, he began teaching through Nepal’s Partnership in Education (PIE) project, supporting students from Year 1 to Year 10.
