Maths & English at our Willoughby Tutoring Centre

Mr Declan joined MWNS as an administrator and now serves as Centre Manager for the Willoughby centre. He is studying a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physics and Political Economy at the University of Sydney and holds qualifications in payroll, administration, and customer service.

Passionate about education, Mr Declan ensures that lessons are productive, meaningful, and tailored to each child’s needs, giving parents, teachers, and students confidence in MWNS as a centre of learning.

Mr Stephen joined MWNS to help run all marketing effort for the business, and assist Mr Declan as Centre Manager of the Willoughby Centre. He holds both a Bachelor and Master of Marketing from Macquarie University and has over a decade experience working in big and small marketing teams.

Passionate about learning and education, Mr Stephen aims to instil a love of learning in everyone who comes into the centre. He believes that learning should be more than just building topic knowledge, it should also support things like creativity, emotional intelligence, self control, and the wide range of softer skills that help us become well rounded people.

Mr Owen is a dedicated and qualified Primary School Teacher with a BSc (Hons) in Marine Science from the UK. Since moving to Australia in 2008, he has taught across all primary levels in Public Schools on the Lower North Shore.

Specialising in OC and selective school testing, Mr Owen fosters a supportive, engaging environment, helping students excel while keeping learning fun and maintaining strong communication with parents.

Mr Devang is pursuing a Bachelor of Advanced Computing at the University of Sydney. With two years of teaching experience in India and experience tutoring in Sydney, he has extensive experience in one-on-one and small group settings. 

Mr Devang creates a friendly, engaging environment where students develop understanding and confidence. His approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps to maximise learning for all students.

Ms Ainslie is a passionate maths tutor, dedicated to helping students build confidence and proficiency. She is currently studying Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science, bringing a logical approach to problem-solving and breaking down complex concepts. 

With five years of tutoring experience, she tailors lessons to individual learning styles, fostering an engaging and supportive environment. She is committed to inspiring curiosity and academic growth.

Ms Ellie is a university student at The University of Sydney studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). She is a dedicated tutor with experience supporting students in mathematics through both school-based and community volunteering programs. Ms Ellie has volunteered weekly at her high school’s tutoring centre, assisting younger students with maths and helping them build confidence in solving problems. She also has experience leading small group sessions, where she developed communication and organisation skills.

Ms Ellie is passionate about creating a supportive and patient learning environment, recognising that many students struggle with confidence rather than ability. She focuses on clear explanations and step-by-step guidance to help students develop a clear understanding of concepts in mathematics.

Ms Marvie has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Major Pure and Applied Maths) and Education from the University of Sydney.

Ms Marvie has many years of experience teaching mathematics across several high schools in Sydney. Over the past 6 years she has migrated to Primary school teaching, with a special interest in teaching English to EALD students. Ms Attia has an interest in teaching phonics, reading, writing and mathematics to students in Primary school (K-6) and mathematics to high school students.

Ms Attia is passionate about supporting students who are struggling with literacy and numeracy and seeing the results of this support as students become more independent and confident learners. She has many years of teaching smaller groups of students, catering for and supporting the learning needs of each student.

Ms Aishani is currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems at UNSW and achieved high bands in Maths Advanced, English Advanced, and Maths Extension 1. She focuses on creating a patient and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.

Passionate about education, she aims to help students reach their full potential and build confidence through an adaptable and encouraging learning space.

Mr Areehan is a second-year Finance and Data Science student at the University of Sydney with broad experience tutoring students from early primary to Year 12. He is passionate about making maths approachable and engaging, adapting his lessons to suit each learner’s style.

By focusing on strong foundations and building confidence step by step, Mr Areehan ensures every student feels supported, capable, and prepared for long-term academic success.

Ms Ishita holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics at Macquarie University. With over seven years of teaching experience across primary and secondary levels, she specialises in English and also teaches Geography, History, and Computer Programming. 

Passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment, Ms Ishita helps students build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

Mr Nicholas graduated from Knox Grammar School in 2025 with a predicted ATAR of 99. He has experience supporting Years 9–10 Advanced Mathematics through tutoring his younger sister, and has also coached and mentored students through his role at the Northern Suburbs Basketball Association.

He enjoys helping students overcome academic challenges and reach their personal best, building confidence along the way. Mr Nicholas values MWNS’ balance of engagement and personal development, and tailors his approach to each student’s needs so they can strengthen skills, enjoy learning, and feel proud of their progress.

Ms Haylee is completing a Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) and Commerce and enjoys helping students build a deep understanding through clear explanations, structured guidance, and meaningful practice. She creates a positive, supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence.

Warm and encouraging, Ms Haylee believes students learn best when they actively engage and feel supported throughout the process. She was drawn to MWNS for its personalised, mastery-based approach and focus on confidence-building, and looks forward to helping each child become a resilient, capable learner.

Mr Zhao has recently graduated from Reddam House with an ATAR of 98.8. Mr Zhao has experience tutoring years 7-9 as a part of his school’s academic portfolio and has an interest in guiding students through the extension mathematics in the HSC as he understands how challenging it is. He is passionate in implementing modern teaching strategies, combined with his own learnings to cater to each individual child’s needs.

He believes that mathematics is often disregarded too early by students, where misunderstanding of basics hinders their ability to see beauty, and wishes to craft an environment that rewrites this stigma and thus allow students to pursue mathematics even under their own accord.
