Ms Tiana has a strong foundation in mathematics, having completed Mathematics Extension 1, and tutors students from Kindergarten to Year 6. With experience across school programs and private tutoring, she adapts lessons to suit different learning styles and ability levels.

Warm and encouraging, Ms Tiana loves helping children build confidence in their mathematical thinking. She breaks concepts down into clear steps and supports students to move past uncertainty to those “I get it” moments. She values personalised, engaging learning and looks forward to helping each child grow in skills, confidence, and independence.

Ms Maya is currently pursuing a Bachelor in Marine Biology and Climate Change at UTS. She has experience tutoring Mathematics for Years 7 to 12, including Advanced and Extension I, and has taught through programs such as the ‘Big Sister Program’ and as a Council Volunteer.

Passionate about building confidence and understanding, Ms Maya tailors lessons to individual learning styles, inspiring students to enjoy learning and achieve success in mathematics and science.

Mr Tanveer is currently studying a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering/Commerce and has experience tutoring Mathematics from Year 7 to Extension 2. He has taught in both private and small-group settings, focusing on breaking down complex problems into understandable steps.

Believing every student can excel with the right support and effort, Mr Tanveer fosters confidence, mastery, and a growth mindset through a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

Alex graduated from Sydney Boys High School and is studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University. He has experience teaching Primary and Secondary Mathematics across various educational settings.

Alex focuses on creating a positive, personalised learning environment where students feel confident to ask and answer questions. He believes that confidence unlocks potential, and aims to help students refine their strengths and overcome challenges while enjoying the learning process.

Ms Zoie is majoring in English at the University of Sydney and plans to pursue a Master of Teaching after completing her Bachelor of Arts. Before joining MWNS, she volunteered as a private tutor supporting underprivileged foster children, bringing a caring, student-first approach to every session.

Passionate about literature, Ms Zoie believes every child can achieve their goals with the right support and challenge. She tailors lessons to each student’s needs, encouraging motivation, confidence, and steady growth. Zoie loves working with a consistent group of students at MWNS so she can build strong relationships and celebrate real progress with families.

Mr Tate has been tutoring independently in his hometown of Bowral, helping students build confidence and thrive academically. Passionate about fostering a positive learning environment, he encourages students to reach their full potential.

Inspired by an exceptional tutor during his own schooling, Mr Tate understands the impact of guidance and support. Currently studying physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University, he combines his love of science and education to help students succeed.

Mr Nethul Tennakoon is a Mechanical Engineering (Honours) student at the University of Sydney and a Dalyell Scholar, with a strong background in Mathematics and Science. He achieved outstanding results in Sri Lanka’s GCE Advanced Levels, ranking 49th nationally in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, and has earned multiple High Distinctions in university maths and engineering units.

He has tutored students across primary and high school, known for breaking complex concepts into clear, engaging steps. Mr Nethul focuses on building confidence by celebrating strengths and patiently supporting areas of difficulty. He values MWNS’ personalised, small-group approach and enjoys helping students grow into motivated, independent learners.

Ms Linara Tennakoon is an enthusiastic educator and undergraduate student currently completing a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering (Honours) at the University of Sydney. She holds a Working With Children Licence and has strong academic credentials, including A* results in Mathematics and English at both O-Level and A-Level. Ms Linara has professional teaching experience as a Lecturer and Course Coordinator (Mathematics & English) at Lanka College of Teachers Training and the Institute of Nations Professional Management, where she supported diverse learners through structured lessons and clear explanations. She is passionate about inclusive, student-centred teaching and adapting instruction to suit individual learning styles. Ms Linara chose to work with MWNS because the small-group learning model aligns with her belief in building student confidence through personalised guidance and ongoing encouragement.

Ms Maria is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Mathematics) (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) at UNSW. She has experience tutoring maths to both primary and secondary students, focusing on building strong foundations before moving into more advanced concepts.

Warm and encouraging, Ms Maria values MWNS’ personalised approach and enjoys helping students grow in confidence and independence. She supports students to apply core principles, strengthen problem-solving skills, and make steady progress toward their goals.

Ms Milana is a current student of a Bachelor degree in Economics/Advanced Maths at UNSW. She has many years of experience in teaching across all year levels, starting from kindergarten to Year 12. Ms Milana is passionate about creating a personalised learning environment for each student to ensure the most appropriate teaching method is used for each student.

Having experienced a range of different educational systems, she understands firsthand the struggles that school can pose. As a result, she is able to acknowledge the students the concerns and find solutions that support students in achieving their academic goals.

She works with MWNS because she resonates with the unique method of working in small, dedicated groups. Her pedagogy style aligns with the MWNS values and allows her to develop her own skillset as she supports the students’ learning.

Ms Milla is an experienced tutor with a passion for translating success in the tutoring room to academic achievement within the classroom. Having worked extensively with students across both primary and secondary levels her focus is identifying what unique stage each learner is in their educational journey.

Adaptability and communication form the cornerstones of her pedagogy, believing that genuine investment in a child’s learning is essential to their progress, fostering resilience and reminding each student of their capacity to succeed.

Ms Laura has a bachelor’s degree of School Pedagogy and a postgraduate degree in Neuropsychology. She has been tutoring for several years and believes that education should be centred on a child’s needs. 

Ms Laura teaches because of the fulfilment that her students get when they learn something new. She loves tailoring her teaching style to suit her students so that they can learn and achieve their potential. 

Mr Ho Nam has experience teaching primary and high school students across multiple disciplines, including Maths and English. He aims to build confidence, motivation, and independence in his students, helping them unlock their potential.

Passionate about empowering academic growth, Mr Ho Nam focuses on cross-disciplinary skills, logical reasoning, and critical thinking, ensuring students gain the tools to succeed both during their schooling and beyond in higher education and the workplace.
